Days of "47 Parade

So our stake primary was invited to walk in the Days of "47 parade this year for Pioneer day. This wasn't the big parade on the 24 of July, but a smaller version on the Saturday before. Instead of several miles we only had to walk a little more than 1/2 a mile. Good thing too, I don't know that Nathan or Jocelyn would have made it much farther. It was more than 100 degree's out that day. I was surprised that walking it didn't put me into labor!!


The kids had a wonderful time waving at everyone as we walked. They loved the free festival after even more. There were blow-up bouncers and slides for them to play on. Face painting, a workshop by Home depot (which we of course had to visit Travis!!), cookie decorating (free cookies!!), art stations, and free popcicles just to name a few things. The kids had a great time, although we started the day off a little later than planned and ran out the door without breakfast!!


Our stakes float was called "Celebrating Family Heritage". It represents a famly tree. There were 100 pictures of ancestor's on the tree. All of the kids carried picture frames with them. It was really cute.

Kyle ended up doing most of the work, but Nathan
loved working with daddy.

The kids didn't want to wash the face paint off, so they ended up wearing it to my cousins wedding reception that evening. Luckily it was a very casual back yard reception!!
